Convert a quote to an order
Turn an accepted quote into a committed sales order that the rest of the plant can act on.
Converting a quote creates a sales order: the firm record of what the customer agreed to buy. The quote stays in the system as a read-only Converted record linked to the new order.
Before you convert
A quote can only be converted once it is Accepted. To get there:
- After the customer agrees to your Sent quote, open it and select Mark accepted.
- If any line has price breaks, make sure the tier the customer chose is the selected one. You cannot convert a tiered line with no selected price break.
Convert
- On the accepted quote, select Convert to order.
- Workcell creates a sales order in Draft, copying the customer, every line, quantities, and selected prices.
- The quote moves to Converted and links to the new order, so you always have the trail from offer to sale.
What you get
The new order opens in Draft, where you can still adjust lines, addresses, and dates before committing it. When the order is correct, release it to signal demand to planning, production, and the warehouse.
To create an order without a quote, go to Sales > Orders and select New order instead.
