Schedule production
Generate a proposed schedule across your resources, then accept or reject it.
The schedule places every operation on a resource over time. Workcell generates a proposed timeline for you to review; you decide whether to commit it. The screen is a Gantt chart of operations laid out by resource.
Read the schedule
- Go to Production > Schedule.
- The Gantt shows operations with their current scheduled start and end times, grouped by the resource that runs them.
- Toggle between all operations and committed (released work orders only) to focus the view.
Generate a proposal
- Select Run scheduler. Workcell computes a proposed start and end for each eligible operation and presents it as a proposal alongside summary metrics (such as overall makespan and lateness).
- The proposal does not change anything yet. Your committed timeline is untouched until you accept.
- Running the scheduler again supersedes the previous proposal.
Accept or reject
When a proposal is pending, two actions appear:
- Accept proposed schedule commits the proposed start and end times to every operation and refreshes the timeline.
- Reject discards the proposal. The committed timeline is left unchanged.
Run scheduler -> Proposal (pending) -> Accept -> times committed to operations
\-> Reject -> previous schedule kept
How the scheduler decides the sequence is part of Workcell's engine and is not configurable from this screen; you work with the proposal it produces.
Where to go next
- Run the scheduled work in Run a work order.
- Keep the resources the schedule uses accurate in Manage resources.
