Transfer stock

Move stock from one location to another and post the movement to inventory.

A transfer moves stock between two locations, whether between bins in one site or between sites. Posting it records the movement so on-hand stays correct at both ends.

Create a transfer

  1. Go to Warehouse > Transfers and select New transfer.
  2. Choose the from location and the to location.
  3. Add a line for each item to move: pick the item, the quantity, and a lot if the item is lot-tracked.
  4. Finish the transfer:
    • Create and post moves the stock immediately.
    • Or save it, open it to lock it for review, then post it when ready.

What posting does

Posting a transfer writes a transfer transaction that decreases on-hand at the source and increases it at the destination. The movement shows in the inventory transaction log.

Draft  ->  Open  ->  Post  ->  stock moved (source down, destination up)
