Put away stock

Move received material from the dock to its storage location so it becomes available to pick.

Putaway is the second half of receiving: moving stock off the receiving dock and into the bin where it belongs. A putaway task is created automatically when you post a receipt.

Put a task away

Go to Warehouse > Putaway and open a pending task.
Each line shows what was received and a suggested location. For each line, confirm the suggestion or pick a different destination bin.
Select Post putaway to complete it.

What posting does

Completing the task posts a transfer transaction that moves the stock from the receiving location to each line's destination bin. Once it lands in a pickable, availability-holding location, the stock counts as available and can be picked.

Receiving dock  ->  Putaway (choose bin)  ->  Post  ->  stock available in its bin

The suggested location is a convenience; you always have the final say on where stock goes.
