Adjust stock
Read on-hand stock and post manual issues and adjustments through the transaction log.
Stock in Workcell is never edited directly. The on-hand figure is the running result of transactions, so to change it you post a transaction and the stock follows. This keeps a complete, auditable history of every movement.
Read the stock picture
- Go to Inventory > Stock. Each row is an item at a location, showing:
- On hand - the physical quantity.
- Reserved - quantity promised to orders or jobs.
- Available - on hand minus reserved.
- Filter to find what you need: zero on-hand, items with a reservation, or items below their reorder point.
Post an adjustment or issue
Use Inventory > Transactions to see every movement and to post a manual one:
- Select New transaction.
- Choose the type:
- Adjustment - correct the count (an opening balance, a count variance, a write-off).
- Issue - take stock out for a reason that is not a shipment.
- Pick the item, the location, and the quantity, plus a lot or serial if the item is tracked. Add a note explaining the change. Save.
The transaction posts immediately and the stock figure updates.
Transactions you do not post by hand
Most movements come from the work happening elsewhere and appear in the log automatically:
- Receipt - from receiving a purchase order.
- Transfer - from a stock transfer between locations.
- Shipments, production consumption, and cycle-count corrections all post their own transactions.
Where to go next
- Move stock between locations in Transfer stock.
- Reconcile recorded stock against the shelf in Run a cycle count.
