Zapier

Zapier is a hosted automation service. You pick a trigger in one app, pick an action in another, and it runs the handoff with no code in between. A WorkCell app on Zapier would publish the events a shop actually acts on, an order accepted, a job finished, a shipment going out, a nonconformance raised, as triggers, and the records you would want written back as actions. That puts WorkCell within reach of the several thousand tools Zapier already speaks to, a Slack channel, a spreadsheet, a CRM, for the people who are never going to write against an API.
