Manage resources
Define the machines, equipment, and stations that operations run on and that the schedule plans against.
Resources are the machines, equipment, tools, and stations your operations run on. The schedule plans work against them and the live view tracks their status, so keeping them accurate keeps both honest.
Add a resource
- Go to Production > Resources and select New resource.
- Give it a code and name, and choose its type (machine, equipment, tool, fixture, or other).
- Set the planning and costing details:
- Hourly rate - the cost used when an operation runs here.
- Capacity per day - how much the resource can do in a day, used by the schedule.
- Optionally record asset details (manufacturer, model, serial number) and notes. Save.
Keep resources current
- Edit a resource to update its rate, capacity, or details.
- The status (running, setup, idle, down, maintenance, offline) reflects its current state and drives the live shop floor view.
- Mark a resource inactive to take it out of scheduling without deleting its history. Archive removes one you no longer use.
- Resources carry a position on the shop-floor layout; arrange them from the Live view's edit mode.
Where to go next
- See how resources are scheduled in Schedule production.
- See how operations are assigned to them in Run a work order.
